Apple And Huckberry Pie


3 cups huckleberries
1 cup finely chopped firm apple
3/4 to 1 cup sugar (according to taste)
2 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp almond extract
pinch of salt
2 pie crust pastries (9 inch size)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Put all ingredients (except pie pastry) into a large bowl and stir together until well combined.
Lay bottom pie pastry in 9 inch pie pan.
Pour the filling into the pie pan.
Lay the second pie crust pastry over the filling, crimp the edges, then cut several small slits in the top crust for steam to vent.
Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 1 hour or until golden brown.
Remove and cool at room temperature.
Makes 1 pie.
